“Free and Safe in Cyberspace” comes to South America!

Rome, Sept 16th 2015.

On 16th 2015, from 10am-2m, Open Media Cluster wil host a “south american edition” of the Free and Safe in Cyberspace conference, calle Free and Safe in Brazil, kindly hosted at and supported by LatinoWare 2015 in Iguazu Falls, one of the largest free software conferences in the world with 4000 participants to its last edition.

FSB will constitute a continuation of global discussions started at the original Free and Safe in Cyberspace, just held in Brusselslast Sept. 24th-25th, with the support ECSEL, AENEAS and EIT Digital, and participation of Bruce Schneier, Richard Stallman, European Defense Agency, EDPS, DG Connect, and many other distinguished speakers.

Among the confirmed speakers we have:
– Marco Mazoni, President of SERPRO. Main Brazilian IT public agency, delegated by President Rousseff to develop state-surveillance-proof email systems for government officials;
– Roberto Gallo, CEO and Chief Scientist at KRYPTUS, holds a PhD on Cybersecurity, Coordinating member of Cybernetics Committee at the Brazilian Defense Industry. He worked in several security projects of strategical interest on Brazilian defense industry, including the National Anti-Malware Platform.
– Rufo Guerreschi. Exec. Dir. at Open Media Cluster. Project Lead at the User Verified Social Telematics project and the Trustless Computing Initiative. Long-time activist for the promotion of democracy within and through the use of IT.
– John Maddog Hall. Executive Director of Linux International, board member of the USENIX association, world renowned free software evangelist, international speaker on hundreds of conferences.
